Orange County Congress of Republicans Endorses Janet Nguyen in AD 72

Orange County, CA - - The Orange County Congress of Republicans met last night and endorsed Janet Nguyen for Assembly in the 72nd District.

In endorsing Janet Nguyen, Anna Bryson, President of the Orange County Congress of Republicans cited Tyler Diep's vote for AB 5, which has devastated independent workers and entrepreneurs and done great harm to the California economy:

"I met Janet in 2005, prior to her first race for the Orange County Board of Supervisors, and found her courage to fight for the needs of her constituents uplifting. As a Senator, Janet Nguyen always understood her constituent's family priority was to put food on the table first -- unlike her opponent who demolished those entrepreneurial hopes by voting for AB 5."

"I am proud to be endorsed by the Orange County Congress of Republicans. California's taxpayers and businesses have been under attack from Sacramento and I am committed to fighting for our job creators and small businesses that are the backbone of our local economy," said Nguyen.

Janet Nguyen entered the race for the Assembly at the urging of numerous local businesses and Republican leaders who saw that incumbent Tyler Diep had abandoned his party and principles. Diep was the only Republican in the Legislature to vote for and lobby in support of the infamous anti-business bill AB 5 and was caught on camera celebrating the bill's passage with local Democrat candidates. AB 5 was one of 15 key votes that Diep gave to labor union lobbyists in 2019.

The 72nd Assembly District is 100% within the Senate District that Senator Janet Nguyen represented. The 72nd Assembly District includes the Cities of  Fountain Valley, Westminster, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, unincorporated cities of Rossmoor and Midway City and portions of Huntington Beach and Garden Grove.
